The teams we have played in the last 8 years are:
- All Cannings
- Bishops Cannings
- Dinder & Croscombe
- Hampset (Stella select)
- Marden
- Shepton Mallet
- Shrewton
- The Lavingtons
- Wookey Hole
- Wookey Indians
During the tours we have stayed in the Beckington Travel Inn, The George at Amesbury, Whitegate Farm at Wookey Hole (three times), Foxhangers at Caen Hull Rowde nr Devizes, The Barge at Honeystreet (who could forget!), and at Coate, camping in the grounds of Bishops Cannings CC.
We have, from time to time, visited some interesting places for breakfast/lunch; particularly memorable is Avesbury, a magical location (although the man in the Pub wouldn't serve halves of coke, even though he had the glasses!?). Observing odd behaviour is a recurring event on tour - some of us remember, during one of our visits to Marlborough, watching some old boy stealing water out of the river (who knows why?). Wandering aound Wells is always good fun, and climbing the hill opposite the campsite at Whitegate Farm is a must for all tourists at some point.
Other "on Tour highlights" include listening to the 2005 Ashes in the minibus to Glastonbury, and sitting in a car park liistening to the conclusion of the 2nd Test with Liz who, as she hails from Down Under, was getting increasingly excited, only to have her hopes dashed to our cheers as England (surprisingly) went on to win by two runs. There have also been a few 'incidents' in various swimming pools over the years, noteably Matt diving on an older woman, and Cyrus losing his trousers only to find them in his bag later.
We have also embarked on other occasional forays to the mainland over the years to:
- Stratford Wesleyan (twenty20)
- St.Mary's (Portsmouth)
- Robin Hood (Havant)
- The Albert (Guildford)
- Beaulieu
...and long may it continue!!!
